Why A Crime Commission?

Law enforcement agencies in today's environment are incapable of coping with the magnitude of crime without the involved support of business, media and community.

The San Diego Crime Commission Mission Statement

Incorporated in 1981 and in full operation by 1983, the San Diego Crime Commission has built public awareness about the impact of crime on community life and has served as a vehicle for citizen involvement in the fight against crime on its many fronts.

Working cooperatively with citizens and public agencies, the Commission provides educational programs with volunteer efforts by citizens of the community. Currently, the Commission is focusing on a wide range of issues including:

Peace Officers Memorial

Blue Knight Annual Award Program

The Commission is a non-profit organization, funded solely by private contributions. It invites membership from the community at large.
